This talk with illustrated backdrop examines the various revolutions in Russia from Bloody Sunday in 1905 to the Great Soviet Revolution which recently had its centenary. Participants such as Tsar Nicholas II, Rasputin, Trotsky and Kerensky are discussed, and Lenin`s 1917 journey in a sealed train across wartime Germany from Switzerland to St Petersburg is related in detail.
Note: This talk has been rescheduled from February, when it was cancelled due to weather conditions. It replaces the planned guided walk of Quarlton.
