Antique Silver Box - Chapeltown 1902

We recently received an enquiry from a collector of antique silver who has bought a silver topped presentation box at an online auction.  The correspondent thought from the assay mark that the item was dated 1902, and was interested to find out any information about the S. Tillotson mentioned in the inscription.

"Presented to S.Tillotson by the inhabitants of Chapeltown Turton as a token of respect for his valuable services whilst holding the office as Mayor in the said Town"
