Monument to Humphrey Chetham
A monument in Turton to the memory of Humphrey Chetham was planned in the early 1800s. It was to have stood on Chetham Close between Egerton and Chapeltown, and would have resembled Holcombe Tower. In the event, insufficient funds were raised for the project.
